Money money everywhere

Money, money everywhere. Yes, I say everywhere!

Like many of us these days money has become more evasive. We may even be able to save some of our hard earned cash but find ourselves wasting it on the latest shoes, purse, or even a new cell phone which comes with monthly payments. Life moves very quickly for most of us as we rush to work and back home again feeling tired and focused on what to fix for dinner or what we need to pick up at the grocery store for dinner. My hub shows you an example of what happened to me recently.

Could you be missing your chance to see that movie this weekend? If the reason is you don't have enough cash then read on.

Go ahead . You won't look dumb. Look under the sofa cushions. Look under your car seats and yes at the bottom of your purse too! Find what you are missing and losing today! How will use your loose change? I want to figure out just how much this found money will amount to over a month's time. Yes, you could buy a gallon of milk or even go to a movie this weekend.

My Money Tree

I say there is something to the vision of an appearance of the Money Tree. It surely is a new tree in my yard. I just planted it yesterday growing in sight of my mind's eye. I want to see that tree every day and enjoy the fruitful bounty.

Chicken Little, The Sky Is Falling! Is it pennies? No, I see golden glittering leaves. Could it be golden leaves falling from my tree? My vision takes me to an imaginary place located between sunrise and sunset hidden beside the stream in the backyard of my mind. Yes, this is a treasure hunt!

Hey, are your pockets deep enough to hold all of the change? See them overflowing and spilling out change. Go to the thrift store and find a friendly Piggy Bank tomorrow! Let's make this month an eventful one something to write home about. I know there must be at least a dollar of quarters, nickles and dimes in a spot which I cannot reach under my car seats. It all seems to roll downward and disappear. It must be gravity and darkness which is keeping it from me. Who will invent that special tool with the magnet on the end for reaching small places and retrieving coins?

As soon as we begin to be thankful for the little things like pennies, nickles and dimes I believe that More will come our way. Open your mind to Chance opportunity. See the small things you can do on a daily basis to increase your cash flow. Laugh a little and enjoy what you have right now. In fact if you are creative use some of your stored items to make a gift for someone else! That will bring a smile to you both. Go ahead share a cup of coffee this morning. Remember, some coins are valuable. Yes, even pennies.

So begin to be more aware of the flow of coins where they come from and where they go. In a few weeks or months you will find enough cash to save for those movie tickets or to start a small savings account. It just makes good CENTS to track your money flow.

The Money Tree

Dollar Store Savings

My best purchase from our local dollar store includes the sweet little piggy banks. I bought one for myself and one for my husband. We are not exactly young anymore but still have those stray nickles, pennies and yes quarters which spill over onto the table top. As a matter of fact we are so lucky here in California to have 99 Cent stores too. These stores often have produce sections in the back of the store. This week I purchased a watermelon and a huge cantelope for only 99 cents each. Products like sandwich bags, foil, scotch tape, special occasion cards (50 cents each) are a great way to save money! I recently discovered that our local store often has ginger root. This is great for making ginger tea which is my substitute for buying commercial soft drinks.

Saving Money For Others

Some of you may not have a specific reason to save money. I suggest you make a list of ways to contribute something to your favorite charity. Giving bags of dog and cat food to shelters helps to save the lives of our best friends . After all isn't a pet your friend for all seasons? Why not just focus on what you can do for a homeless person or what you can contribute to a local church group which needs funds to support the youth in your community. Trips, snacks, and organized activities help our young people to stay out of trouble on the streets.
